Anaheim, CA – February 12, 2014 –Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women—more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. Surprisingly, every 9 seconds in the United States a woman is assaulted or beaten and 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime.
Plus-sized clothing retailer Kiyonna Clothing, Inc. does not want victims of such heinous crimes to suffer any more than they already have. Therefore, Kiyonna has partnered with Reveal NYC to help celebrate the beauty and dignity of women survivors of domestic violence in their annual Valentine’s Day Makeover Event. According to the President and Passionate Founder of Kiyonna, Kim Khanbeigi, “We’re in the business of making women feel amazing. What better way to do this than by partnering with Reveal for this event”.

Reveal’s Valentine’s Day Event is an unforgettable extravagant makeover experience that allows women to be uniquely themselves. The women receive full makeovers including hair, make-up, massage therapy, and a new wardrobe, as well as receive the self-less love of the many volunteers that gift their time, talent and resources. Reveal’s Monthly Workshops teach and inform women on beauty practices and life skills. This includes information on health, nutrition, interview presentation and fitness instruction. Through these two program activities 100+ women are served annually.
