Great Changes. This was the name of the first plus-size boutique I ever sold to when Kiyonna was founded in 1996. Ironically enough, I was 22 years old and embarking on making nothing less than great changes in an industry that needed a major makeover.

Believe it or not, the only way to find these very specialized boutiques and savvy buyers was to schlep the line to a trade show, send line sheets via snail mail, and travel across the country. My business started by working with store owners who do everything from turn on the lights in the morning to help their customers tirelessly everyday in dressing rooms. It was tough, but perseverance has its payoffs…and 13 years later I am forever indebted to those 1st boutique owners who gave Kiyonna a chance.

Today, we still pride ourselves on working exclusively with boutique owners who want to offer a stylish line of plus size apparel not found in department or chain stores. We offer more than a great collection however. Over the years, the press has been extremely kind to us. Kiyonna has been featured in almost every major woman’s magazine. With an established brand name and a following of more than a hundred thousand plus size consumers, we help our stores get new customers through their doors every single day.
