I bought this dress to where out to dinner for my 35th anniversary! It arrived well-packaged and in a plastic wrap on a hanger. The color was true to the picture; it is a knit kind of fabric with a bright magenta color underneath with a black lace overlay with shear sleeves. This dress just slips on over your head and does not wrinkle, making it great to travel with. The v of the neck line is low as pictured, however, I wore a black lace bra that would not really be noticed if it peeked out a little. It does need a slip underneath and is below knee length on me (I am 5'6"). This dress is very comfortable to wear and very flattering; I felt beautiful and sexy while wearing it.
